DO NOT HIRE

Unreliable and Unprofessional Moving Experience

I hired this company to move me from Maryland to Delaware. When I first contacted them, they gave me a quote over the phone without ever seeing my home. The representative, Ron, repeatedly pressured me to commit and pay a deposit, even as I struggled to sell my house.

Once my home finally sold, I informed them there would be a gap between my move-out and move-in dates. They assured me storage wouldn’t be a problem. However, when my settlement date was confirmed, I began calling two weeks in advance to schedule my delivery. Despite having listed February 3rd as my move-in date on the paperwork, they refused to give me a clear answer, stating they didn’t schedule that far ahead and told me to call closer to the date.

Since then, I have been given nothing but the runaround. They initially told me via text that my belongings would be delivered on February 6th, but as of 4:36 PM, I have received no updates and no delivery. Every time I call, I am told they will be in touch, but I have yet to get a concrete answer. At this point, I have no idea when I will actually receive my belongings.

This has been an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable moving service.

Never use alliance movers

Never use alliance Movers, they are liars and cheaters. They gave me a quote to move my three bedroom home with a 26 foot truck to go from Florida to Alabama. They told me the same men that load the truck will unload the truck. Then they called me And told me they wanted to start my job around 4 PM. I told him there is no way they’re going to start my packing and loading my three bedroom house at 4 PM and I wanted to reschedule for earlier during the day. Then at 3 PM a huge truck showed up that already had another Houses furniture in it to be delivered to Virginia on the way to my delivery in Alabama . they then tried to charge me more money than our agreement because I had glass top tables which they knew about when they gave me the original quote. Only after I threw the driver out of my house did the company call me and offer to send me a single truck just for my job during the daytime as originally promised. but then it was too late. I already did not trust them and happily walked away from my 10% deposit and hired another moving company.

Every single person I spoke to at the company, had lied to me on that day

Great movers!

Great movers and precise. I would highly recommend their service and I will definitely call them for my next move. I had to ask for a 8 am pickup since my new apartment didn't open until 11 am so I can get the keys on move in a day. Alliance Movers was able to accommodate my schedule and showed up on time as scheduled. The team worked quickly, carefully and efficiently. My biggest concern was moving my big screen TV. The movers covered up all furniture and electronics perfectly for the move and handled them with care. Everything made it to my new apartment without issues and they were quick to put my furniture back together. Thank you very much!

Do Not Use.

I have been in a sales role for quite some time that is heavily involved in customer service, so I try to always make it as easy as I can to do business with someone, because I know how stressful it can be. I spoke with Rich over the phone and gave him the exact breakdown of how many pounds we would be packing, how many boxes, furniture, pictures from zillow, etc. Because I wanted to make sure there were no surprises on my end that would disrupt the move. I discussed in detail with him how I needed to move out on a particular date, Monday, because we closing on Tuesday. I told him we could move in either Tuesday or Wednesday. Rich said "no problem" and proceeded to discuss how the two day delivery window was good for the drivers in case they ran into trouble with hours on the road and they would just plan to Pickup Monday, and Deliver Wednesday. When the first two quotes came back to me, this information was correct. Well Monday comes and no movers arrive. I called Rich only to hear him say, "Now how did that happen?" Under his breath on the phone, when looking at the pickup date. He then told me, "I'm working on it" and that he would call me back. I told him we could still use Alliance as long as they could pick up Tuesday morning and be out of the house before closing which was 11:00 am. He said again, "I'm working on it" it gets later and later in the day, with no word from Rich at all so at this point My Wife and I make an emergency run to UHAUL and pick up two of their largest trucks and called as many people as we could and had them come and help. It's now 4:30 and still have not heard back from Rich so I texted him and told him what we had to do. He then erupts on me and says that everything they have done is within their contract that I requested and that movers would be there Tuesday between 9 and 11 (again we close at 11). I told him there was no point the trucks were almost loaded. He blows up again and says that I wont be getting my 1100 dollar deposit back even after admitting fault through both phone and text, that they had messed up the pick date. This was a very rough experience for myself and my family both financially and physically. If they need the 1100 from my deposit that bad they can keep it but between my reviews online and my complaints to the BBB I promise this episode will cost them much, much, more. Like I said, When I screw up I take responsibility for my mistakes, I am not unreasonable, if they had just communicated with me properly, we could have worked this out even with the pick date blunder. If the owner wants to reach out to me I don't even mind splitting the 1100 deposit because they did dispatch a truck with workers on it on my behalf and those people need to be compensated, but if not I will have to proceed with my reviews and complaints so that no one else will have to lose money on a company that does not stand by their service.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Highly recommended.

I was looking for movers and couldn’t find any availability for the time I needed to move during the high season but Alliance Movers fit me into their already busy schedule. Jordan and Mike were great and helpful. They were quick and efficient and very nice. I didn’t worry about anything being damaged or cracked . I would highly recommend Alliance Movers for your next move!

Long-distance move from Summerville, SC to Springfield, VA

Worst in my 30 years of experience of moving every 1-3 years

Alliance Movers is by far the worst company that I've dealt with over the past 30 years of moving every 1-3 years CONUS/OCONUS.

I called Alliance Movers and asked if they can meet a pickup schedule between 1/29 Monday - 1/30 Saturday and delivered no later than Monday 2/1 which was they said they can meet. The reason for the tight schedule is I'm starting a new job in DC, selling my home in SC, and moving to a rental in VA and was trying to limit the amount of time I'm spending in hotels with family. Since I was told that they could meet that timeframe we packed for only a few days and now we are being told that it can take up to 21 days for them to deliver. I am a veteran and currently work for the Federal Government and move around every 1-3 years for the past 30 years.

The evening of the move it started raining severely and they thought it was acceptable to bring muddy trollies into my house on the 1st and 2nd floor that has brand new flooring on the 1st floor, and brand new carpet from the stairwell and all of the 2nd floor. When I asked them if they had booties to minimize tracking dirt and mud in the house they said no because they can't predict the weather and that it was my responsibility to tell Alliance Movers to bring them. When I asked them if they would clean up their mess, they said it was not their responsibility to clean their mess and that I have to clean it myself or hire a professional cleaner. They left several items I needed packed that I kept placing back with items needing to be packed and they kept removing it. They also left behind lots of packing material spread across the floors; they ordered pizza for dinner and left those boxes and drinks; they broke the glass to the ceiling fan light in the master bedroom stating that the large mirror they were moving is too big not knowing that I have personally moved that mirror on several occasions by myself without breaking anything. They complained about being too hot in my house and requested I turn off the heat and open the windows. It being cold that day and having a 2 year old and a 5 year old daughter my concerned was keeping my daughters comfortable while they were sleeping. That day I called Alliance Mover's phone number to express my dissatisfaction about the movers but they were closed.

On 2/1 I returned to the house and took out all of their trash, cleaned up the mud and oil stains they created on both the 1st and 2nd floors, then proceeded with the drive from SC to VA. I received no phone call from them on 2/1 so I called them around 4pm while at a pitstop on the drive to VA to follow-up and check on status. They said that my House Hold Goods were being held until I completed the remainder of the payment. I explained to them my dissatisfaction about their service and asked them about the possibility of cancellation and if I can bring in another company to pick up and deliver my furniture which question they ignored and didn't provide an answer to what other options I had. They pushed me to pay the remainder of the 70% and that I would be called a day before delivery without knowing what day that would be when I asked. During that call they said "maybe in 3 days they can have it delivered", today 2/4 @4pm will make the 3rd day with no call from Alliance Movers.

It went so great!

It went so great! From the initial conversation forward, Juan and the staff were responsive and provided details and service from start to finish. They made my out of state move right on schedule. The guys were very fast but truly diligent as they so carefully pad wrapping and protected quite a few pieces of antique furniture. They were also both professional and extremely nice. I was kept informed as to their timing every step of the way. I was so thankful I chose their moving service and received White Glove Service! I will definitely ill use alliance movers group for Moving Services the next time I need it!

Alliance Movers Group

Larry estimated my move @3200 which included appliances and piano. He told me they needed a two day window for oick up and delivery. When the driver got there with one other guy, he quoted me 7000.00. I had to have my stuff out. Larry told me my stuff would be delivered in May 1 or May 2. It is May 8 and I still do not have my stuff. They did not honor the estimate or the delivery dates on the agreement with Larry, who is the person that @sells” the services.

Official company response

Sheila, as you correctly stated in you post, what our sales person gave you initially was an ESTIMATE (an approximate calculation or judgment of the value, number or quantity).
When our driver came to pick us and did the "walk through" we determined that in reality you had 1000 more cubic feet then previously estimated (based on your description i might add). Therefor the increase in cost. Have you communicated you actual inventory to a sales person better, the original estimate would've been a lot close to the actual one.
As far as the DELIVERY date. Based on the contract you signed, we do not guarantee and 2 day delivery date. We do not rely on "hearsay" that is why we sent you a documents to read and sign. This is a copy of what you signed.
"The moving company will do everything in its power to deliver your goods on the date requested above. However, please allow up to 21 business days for all deliveries from the date mentioned above."
You first available date was 05/01/2021 we delivered on 05/08/21. I think the facts speak for themselves.

Nightmare - Can't Believe They Get Away with This

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They play it off like they are a big moving company and will take care of you, but they do not. Larry from this company is great. Answers the phone, asks you questions, and is very personable. I enjoyed working with him. Then everything from there went down hill QUICK> First of all, a moving company who has their act together is not going to give you a two day window of when they "MIGHT" show up. I was scheduled for Friday OR Saturday. Well Saturday rolled around and I got a call at NOON telling me the truck broke down and they guaranteed they would be there by 8:00 am the next day to move me. I couldn't get a single person on the phone until 9:30 AM on Sunday. (Two days after I should've been moved in). They announced nonchalantly they would be here around 1:00 or 2:00. At 4:00 PM on Sunday they FINALLY SHOW UP to move my 2400 sq foot home to Sarasota with 2 guys and a medium size truck.

The driver came in took an inventory and handed me a bill $2k over the original estimated amount. When I told him I am not paying that, he says "Maybe you need to find another mover". WTF? You are two days late, you try to charge me an additional $2k? I said I agree, I do need a new mover, you need to leave my house. He got in his truck and drove off.

I proceeded to receive phone calls and text from who I presume is the Manager stating it's not the drivers fault he is late, it's not his fault their are extra charges. TOO LATE, I would never recommend anyone do business with this scam of a company and I definitely do not trust them with my stuff. This WAS A NIGHTMARE. I am a single mom moving with two little kids and can't believe they would put a customer through this. I explained over and over what I needed and it was like the driver "lead" was never told anything and could care less.

FYI, I called two other companies, both of them quoted me $1200 less than their original bill and $3,200 less than their bill after they tried to tack on an additional $2k upon arrival. TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

Official company response

Dear Sonja, It is unfortunate your experience with our company was not to your satisfaction . Moving can be stressful and we try to make it as painless as possible. With that said, human error happens and unforeseeable circumstances arise.
Yes, we arrived a day late, due to a mechanical issue with a truck. You were contacted on Saturday with the update about the delay, rescheduled service for Sunday morning, but the crew got delayed until 2:30 pm. We called you around
10 am to inform you about the delay, the driver spoke with you as well. Our Manager applied $250 discount for the delay.
Your original move was 1283cf, when our crew arrived and did a "walk through" of your house they realized that you have a lot of extra items (we knew about it from the conversation with the you on Friday and informed you that the revision will be made upon pickup). One of the extra items was a huge trampoline in the backyard that needed disassembling, loose stuff and many fragile items needed packing. Total volume was 2000 CF. After revision, understandably, the price went up. We were also providing free packaging and gave you an additional discount of over $1600.
At that point you became confrontational with our driver, as you were expecting us to provide additional services at no extra cost, due to the delay. You continued to argue with the driver over the price, at that point he felt uncomfortable by your behavior and recommended that maybe we are not a good fit for you, and you should look for another movers.
We also refunded your deposit, despite the company policy that Deposits are non-refundable, if the job canceled on the day of service.
